Hi everyone! Do you ever see a stamp you just *have* to have, and then never use?
I bought this really cool Inkadinkado flourished skull at my LSS. Here is a picture of it, along with a couple of other Inkadinkado stamps. Just *had* to have it. I was going to use it with pink paper and go girly punk. I had all sorts of ideas for it, but It has been sitting here. The chill in the air and the overcast sky finally got me in a Halloween mood so I decided to dust off Mr. Skull. I was going for a goth/punk vibe so decided to dust off *another* stamp set I just had to have but rarely use - my Autumn Leaves Flourishes. I actually do love that set - I need to use it more! I embossed the largest flourish with black embossing powder. I really need to get detail black, it makes such a difference.
The flowers are die cuts using my Cuttlebug and some very sheer black felt with orange glitter in it. I bought this in the scrapbook paper area of my local art store (Loomis if you're local). The tiny faux orange crystals are from the dollar store. I have been using those a lot lately lol. I wanted a girly goth and thought that would help make the image not so spooky. Allan said it was scaring him lol!
Next up is a Witchybella card. Her black cat is the Inkadinkado stamp from the previous picture. I don't know who makes the shimmery pearl black vellum, but I love it. I can't resist the bling and added Stickles to give Bella some false eyelashes, and a bit of bling to her cat and pumpkin. The creepy hand coming out to get her is a Fiskars hand punched out with golden olive pearl vellum that came in a set I got last Christmas.
The mesh Prima is from the new Fancies collection. To finish it off I used a Making Memories Halloween Pebble Brad. Just love these! You get large and mini brads of coordinating patterns and colors in a set.
There is definately a learning curve with this bad boy. If you aren't careful as you go around the shape the blade will spin at an angle and ruin your shape. I gave up on it for several months, and today out of the blue gave it a try and used it with success. Maybe it is just me - I have the same problem with the Coluzzle.
I wanted to show you the "problems" I had photographing these cards. I feed birds (Blue Jays and Chickadees) out on my deck/photography studio and they were NOT happy I pushed their seeds and peanuts aside to take pictures. In fact a Chickadee landed on my shoulder lol!
I may be back later if I get a chance to do some more creating but I am off to prepare dinner. Have a great and crafty day!
