I was asked to make a card for lady celebrating her 75th birthday. I thought I would make a very clean and elegant card that still had the little details I like to add.
I embossed some vellum with my favorite Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Textile, then used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and Scallop Oval Nestabilities with it. The main image rests on the embossed vellum.
A gold leafing pen was edged around everything as well.
The main image, a lovely retired PSX stamp, was stamped onto Papertrey Select White cardstock. Stampin' Up!'s Linen Background stamp was first stamped with VersaMagic Sahara Sand and sponged onto the edges.
I colored the image with Copics, added some sparkle with Copic Spica Atyou pens, then glazed the vase and flowers with Crystal Effects.
If you double click on the image a pop up window will show you a larger picture and you can really see the shimmer.
May Arts Satin white ribbon adds a bit of polish.
The sentiment on the front of the card is from Papertrey's Butterfly Kisses set; the quote on the inside is from Papertrey's Out on a Limb set.
Still debating if I should change the quote or not. Hmm.
Thank you for stopping by - and thank you for all the words of encouragement on my job hunt! I have said it before, your comments mean so much to me :)

I love this card, it looks like the image is on a cross-stitched background with the way you showed the layers.

That is one fabulous card and I would leave it just the way it is. I had no idea you could use vellum in the Cuttlebug. Karen B.
