Hello there and happy Monday! The sun is shining here but the frost remains - it is wicked chilly and I have to admit I am still recovering from Allan's staff party on Saturday night. Those radio people are crazy I tell ya! It is funny that I mentioned the importance of Cod here in Newfoundland, because at the party they "screeched" us in. I had to kiss a real Cod - talk about fish lips! More on that another day lol. Today I am going to share a couple of cards, the first of which is for the first Magnolia-licioussketch challenge. Each month a member of the Magnolia-licious design team will create a sketch for you to play along and have fun with.
December's super cute sketch was created by our DT Leader, Claudia Rosa. Very simple yet so full of possibilities for pretty layering and details.
Tilda in Winter Stockings from the Magnolia Stamps Winter Collectionwas colored with Copics; I accented her with Stickles in Diamond. The sentiment, Merry Christmas Cross-Stitch from the Holiday Collection(also by Magnolia Stamps) was stamped in VersaFine Satin Red, which has a bit of pink in it so was perfect for this non traditional colored card. These stamps are available at Magnolia-licious and since they are shipped to you from the US or Canada you will get them in time for Christmas yay - Diana ships so fast.
The card is on a base of Bazzill bling (the light pearlized green), Stampin' Up!'s Riding Hood Redtextured cardstock, and a bunch of scraps (K&Co's glittery Peppermint Twist and Doodlebug's flocked velvet Cupcake Chenille patterned papers) to make this little card. I decided to cut my circle to show off these pretty papers.
The trees are Cuttlebug die cuts of more scraps. For the center strip I added some Milk paper from Urban Prairieby BasicGrey punched with a Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch, and some May Arts ribbon. The felt poinsettia and leaves are by Hero Arts.
Hope to see you playing along in the sketch with your Magnolia stamps! You can upload your cards to the Magnolia-licious group's album on Yahoo or post to SCS using a soon to be determined keyword (I will edit this post as soon as I know!). For some beautiful inspiration check out the other DT members blogs: Claudia, Suzanne and Cheryl.
Be back soon with a House Mouse card for Monday's House Mouse & Friends Challenge blog!

Sounds like the party was a blast! My husband got screached in when we lived on PEI, and he visited NF for a convention. I miss the Maritimes sooooooooo much!! Your card is adorable, as always.

Adorable. The pink paper on the right looks like it is flocked! Love the layout. I know I will have fun using it.
