Hi and hello friends,
A quickie post today as I am busy baking Ciabatta bread and chopping veggies for Cheese & Ale soup. I made a sponge for the bread last night and have my fingers crossed that it will create a sourdough type flavor and big air bubbles :)
Today's card uses one of my favorite stamps by The Rubber Cafe - Small Trailing Butterflies. TRC stamps now come with deeply etched red rubber on EZmount with cling cushion, so you just stick them on your acrylic block and stamp away. I love easy. The packaging includes a stiff plastic coated insert to stick the stamp to for storage.
I used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to correctly place the image between the raised rectangle Nesabilities die cut and the Papertrey cardstock. I also stamped an extra onto scrap paper for the top left corner and a few 3D butterflies.
The butterflies were all stamped with Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa then colored with the Copics you see above. The pink and blue blended very well together- you always see people doing the Copic system of 3 shades of one color, but sometimes a contrast can be pretty too. I actually went back and added darker colors to differntiate it a bit more.
TRC sells the Ciao version of these markers, which are smaller but more affordable, and yet still refillable.
I added a light wash of Shimmerz paint in Angel Wings (pearlized white) which really stands out in person.
The sentiment, I Adore You, was stamped in Ancient Page Chocolate ink, then edges with some pink and blue marker so that it would not be so stark against the butterflies.
Cardstocks used include Stampin' Up's Textured Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirhouette, and Bashful Blue. I also used Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue Tafetta Ribbon to wrap around the cardstock - I love how it adds a monochromatic texture without the busy-ness a bow would add. The Pink flatback pearls are by Kaiser.
