Hi & Hello!
Today's House Mouse & Friends Challenge is to create a shaped card. Yes I know, square and rectangle are shapes too, but we want you to create using a different shape than the norm. Shaped cards are so fun and easy to make, and always stand out.
For today's card I cut Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink textured cardstock with the largest die from Nestabilities Nested Flowers, making sure the die was a bit below the top crease where the card folds. If you do not own die cuts, you can still create shapes by tracing folded cardstock.
Using Ranger's Bridal Embossing Tinsel, I embossed the textured card base with Stampin' Up!'s Bella Toile background stamp. It leaves a trace of pattern and holographic pink/green/gold glitter - just love it.
I stamped the Happy Hoppers Relaxing Bunny image twice onto white cardstock, colored both images with the Copics you see above, then cut out one image, die cut one with Nestabilities circles, and used a pop up foam dot to get a 3D look.
Can you believe I used so many colors for this tiny stamped area? I mixed and blended a lot on this card; many of the colors are very similar to each other but had the slightest pink, tan, or gray tone I needed. The bubbles, as well as the Dew Drops pearls, were covered with Stickles Glitter Glue in Waterfall and Crystal.
The gorgeous floral patterned papers are Memoirs and Ruby by Prima from the new Flirty Little Secret collection, available at Embellish-Online (code GLITTER will save you 20%). I punched the papers with Stampin' Up!'s Boho Blossoms punch; the sentiment, a rub-on, is also by Stampin' Up!. I cut little Prima flowers off their stems and used sticky Glue Dots to adhere them. The satin cream ribbon is by May Arts.
House Mouse, Happy Hoppers and Gruffies stamps are now available at The Rubber Cafe.
I am getting to ready to post a Q&A to answer some of the questions I have been receiving, including my thoughts on Copic Certification, just how I colored the Magnolia Big Daisy stamp last week, and more. Look for that soon.
Thank you for stopping by - hope you can find some time to play along in the challenge! Be sure to see the gorgeous cards the rest of the Design Team have created for your viewing pleasure at the HM&F Blog.
