Hello and welcome!
Today is Monday and that means a new challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is really a tough one for many of us - to make a masculine card. I must admit I struggle without my pink and flowers!
The new Chatterbox Fabulous collection, which debuted at CHA this past January, really helped me to form a masculine layout that I could live with. The papers are soft, gender neutral colors of yellow, brown, celery and blue, with both floral and geometric patterns. The large dot paper is Fabulous Buttons, the geometric pattern is Fabulous Arrows, and the smaller dots used to paper piece the coffee cup of the House Mouse Morning Jump Start image is Fabulous Big Star (the reverse of the paper is a large star). The base of the card is Stampin' Up!'s textured Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip cardstock.
The sentiment is Chatterbox's Fabulous Chipboard Words. Love the unique shapes, sizes, and words - it was so hard to pick one but I just love this sentiment. It has a lot of meaning for me right now and I know just who will get this card :)
After coloring the image with Copics and cutting out the little mouse head and paws, I put it on a white circle of cardstock die cut with Nestabilities using dimensional foam dots. Coloring this image was so simple and easy - not all of the House Mouse stamps will involve hours of coloring.
The Fabulous Stitched Felt Stickers had the perfect size circle to fit around the white cardstock circle die cut. The scallop felt trim is from the same package. The little button accent is from Stampin' Up!'s new Button Latte; the green twill is from the Stampin' Up! Ribbon Bundle that was part of the Sale-A-Bration giveaways.
House Mouse stamps can be bought at fantastic prices from TheRubberCafe.com. If you haven't checked out TRC recently you must. So much fabulous stuff has been added to the store. and advice yesterday.
Thank you for the comments and advice yesterday. I can't express in mere words how much everyone's kindness means to me right now. I received a call yesterday from Korin of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. She had such sage advice and prayed for Allan and I. Such a weight lifted, the tears flowed and today I woke up a new person, determined to clean up the mess that has crowded my house, my thoughts, my work - everything. Never underestimate the power of a kind word, a smile, and prayer :)
Thanks for stopping by,

Awww, such a sweet card Suzy! I really love the sentiment. I'm also happy to hear that you and Alan are feeling better. It really sucks when life throws these curves at us, it's so hard to "create" anything, let alone get out of bed some days!! Glad you're doing well, I've missed you! :)

So cute! Love that cup! Also love the felt embellishments. I haven't really used felt on my cards but this inspires me to give it a try! Is it hard to work with?

What a cool card. Just love the House Mouse collection even though I'm mostly a Stampin'Up fan. You made it masculine but with a lot of interesting embellishments.

Suzy, what a relief to hear that you are feeling more yourself! You have been through so much lately, and I thank the Lord that you were able to talk with a friend and find some peace. Your card today is adorable -- love the look of the felt layer and that wonderful saying with this cute little guy.
