Happy Wednesday to you! Today the Angels Landing Design Team has made an array of gift card holders that are easy to make and so fun to give. Mine is a sweet and simple card & gift card holder in one: the little train from the Angels Landing Alphabet Train digi stamp set tows along a gift card to someone special.
To make the gift card pocket, I used two rectangle Nestabilities of Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery Textured Cardstock sealed with red line sticky tape; the Cameo Coral "lid" is a Scallop Rectangle Nestabilites that was cut then added with dimensional foam tape. The pocket is snug enough that there is no chance of the card slipping out (it is the second from the largest rectangle in the Large Classic Rectangles set)
The images were colored with Copics then put on foam dimensionals. The base of the card is made from Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery and Blush Blossom textured cardstock (all Stampin' Up!)
A couple of flatback pearls adds a little bit of elegance to the sweetness. I love the texture, color and dimension of the card - when I added any other embellishments it took away from those three things, so I kept the card clean and simple.
Designer Tip: The middle larger wagon originally held a lamb and a duck; I cut them out, which left a bit of lines on the trim. To get rid of that I added a new strip lined with Tsukineko's Pigma Micron pen in .05.

Oh yes Friday has arrived! Hope you have great plans to create like I do :) Today's card used Chasing Tilda from the new Magnolia collection Chasing Butterflies. Every new collection becomes my favorite, fickle crafter am I (she says in her Yoda voice). This card is higher than the sky as far as dimension goes, it may be one of my highest yet.
I started with a base of 120lb weight Neenah paper then added Bazzill Arroyo and Navajo Basics Cardstock, which is a perfect match for the colors in Making Memories Butterfly patterned paper from their new Flower Patch collection.
Tilda was colored with the colors you see above, then cut out and put onto a layer of Bazzill Swiss Dots patterned paper in Salt, which has embossed polka dots to mimic the dots in the Butterfly paper.
The flower layers are all die cut with Spellbinders Peony Nestabilities and layered with foam dots.
I cut a few butterflies from the paper, then shaped and arranged them with foam dots of different thicknesses.
Dew Drop pearls covered with Stickles in Crystal were added here and there.
Tilda's dress has a bit of Liquid Pearls in Mint Green on it as well.

Today's card uses Graduation Tilda from the new Magnolia Graduation Collection, which has just arrived in the Magnolia-Licious Store. There was a thread on SCS about how people are intimidated by the Magnolias because of all the layers and coloring work they see, so I thought I would show you how a Magnolia card doesn't have to be super ornate or layered.
The image was colored with the Copic markers you see above (of course I forgot to add the warm grays W1 and W3 I used to ground her). I kept thinking of the song Wide Open Spaces, and wanted a lot of open, clean space to surround Tilda as her future is open with possibilities. I also wanted her to glow as she is the shining star for the day, so surrounded her with yellow "light".
I tried something new (for me) and stamped Tilda onto 140lb Watercolor Paper. This is usually a no-no as it is a "thirsty" paper that soaks up and wastes Copic ink, but I layed a good coat of Colorless Blender first and really like the result. The ink moved beautifully on the watercolor paper, and the slight nubbed texture reminded me of classic graduation notices.
Floating Acetate To create the floating acetate sentiment I embossed the Graduation Diploma and Graduate Books onto watercolor paper with Ranger Antique Gold Embossing Powder in Roman Gold, which has a deep, old gold EP combined with holographic glitter for sparkle.
The sentiment, Tomorrow is a Blank Page, was stamped with Staz-On onto acetate, then put over the books with foam dimensionals. Dew Drops cover up the foam.
I absolutely love the look of the floating acetate sentiment, pictures do not do it justice so you will have to trust me that it is most awesome and you must try it :)
The base of the card is Bazzill Bling in a pearlized cream shade; Tilda is matted with a deep pearlized chocolate Bazzill Bling, then The Paper Company's Arctic Gold, which is a cool gold textweight paper. Everything is cut with Nestabilities by Spellbinders. The watercolor paper is edged with Krylon Gold Leaf pen.
I added Yellow Stickles to the Dew Drops, Tilda's tassel and diploma.

Hello and welcome to my stop on the first Angels Landing Blog Hop! Each Design Team member will be showing you wonderful new projects on their blog to inspire you. Today is the release of two new digital stamp sets, Toys on Wheels and Alphabet Train. Judi says that the idea for these adorable sets came from custom wooden pull toys that spell out children's names. To celebrate, Angels Landing will be giving away two digi sets! More on that after my card details below.
To create this sweet little baby scallop circle card I printed the smallest images from the Toys on Wheels set onto cardstock (the same images come in different sizes ready to print - love that!), colored the images with Copic markers, then cut them out and arranged them around my scallop circle card with foam dots onto Bazzill Swiss Dots in Salt.
This card will be for a baby shower where the gender of the baby is unknown, so I tried to keep it gender neutral. I alternated blue and pink Hero Arts Adhesive Pearls on the wheels.
The large white satin bow on top has a button with a larger Kaiser Champagne Pearl inserted into the center to round out the wheel theme.
Note: The animals from the Toys on Wheels set also work with the letters and numbers from the Alphabet Train set.
While I used the PDF images (Adobe files) which are about 1 inch square, the PNG images (PhotoShop or other photo editing software files) are larger, sized for scrapbook pages, banners, or table decorations. Of course they can be scaled smaller.
To celebrate the release of these two new and adorable digital image sets, Angels Landing will be giving away the new set Alphabet Train, and any other one set of your choosing on the products page including the other new set used on my card, Toys on Wheels.

It is a beautiful morning here in Newfoundland, I hope the sun is shining where you are! Today I have a couple of shaped cards and an easy, fun little gift idea using Tilda With Ladybug, which is new from the Magnolia Stamps Butterfly Collection and available now in North America at Magnolia-Licious.
Both cards are colored with the Copics you see above. For the card to the left I went for a ladybug theme and colored in spots with a Sharpie onto my acetate card.
Designer Tip: Stamp Tilda twice onto cardstock. Then you can cut Tilda out without stressing over tiny details difficult to cut like ladybug antennae.
The top layer Tilda is added with pop dots for dimension, yet you lose no details.
The bottom layer Tilda is cut with Nestabilities and colored with only one layer of Copics on the edges where the foam dots would allow it to be seen.
I save the detail coloring for the top Tilda.
Inside the card is a white circle to write a little note.
This Ladybug Tilda card is also cut with a Spellbinders die (Nested Flowers) - instead of acetate I used Bazzill Basics Red Devil.
The bit of yellow (Bazzill Basics Mexican Poppy) peeking out is the same size circle as the white. I do that because I only own the large size of circles and can't really invest in the small sizes just yet, so this is an affordable way to add a layer :)
I did the same thing on the acetate card, but in black.
Extra touches: The little red dots on her boots were created with Liquid Pears in Ruby Red.
I hand stitched with pen around the white die cut.
As part of a little gift set I am creating I added Sharpie to some red pencils and a little wooden ladybug for fun.
The white satin ribbon is by Stampin' Up!

Today's card is for the Sweet 'n Sassy Design Team Round Up. This is a special month because we are releasing five beautiful sets tonight during our Forum Release Party, including this lovely butterfly set, In His Time, drawn by our very own DT member Chris Dickinson. Her sets are always my favorite - they are feminine, detailed without being fussy, and oh so fun and easy to color.
I colored the butterfly with Copic markers, then cut him out. Butterfly cutting is usually such a pain but this little fellow was so agreeable - no tiny bits to cut except for the antennae which were thick enough to not cause a problem.
I traced some of his markings with Crystal Stickles. The paper is all Basic Grey's Urban Prairie.
Goldenberry Dewdrop pearls were added to the side of the Urban Prairie Cardstock Sticker that I stamped the sentiment on. The big green button is a vintage button from my stash.
To make the paper flower I cut up the scallops of Nestabilities into petals after embossing with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The leaves are also a die cut: Little Leaf by Stampin' Up!
I added a patch of Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence in the corner for some texture as the card was looking a bit too scrappy.

June is the month of graduations, weddings, bridal, and baby showers so
I thought I would share a beautiful favor box that is easy on the budget and quick to make. The Pillow Box was created using Angels Landing Digital Stamps Pierced Flowers on the Pillow Box template you get free with the Pierced Backgrounds set.
The Pillow Box template comes in a PDF file you can re-size to suit your need. I didn't re-size it at all - just printed and voila! It is about 3.5x6 and has a slotted tab to open and close.
I wanted a fresh and clean look for my pillow box so I printed the template onto white cardstock, then added a removable slip cover of Papertrey Linen Vellum which reminds me of a cross stitch pattern (you can see the pattern a bit if you double click on the photo). It has a nice weight to it so it is more like cardstock and doesn't crack when you score it.
To size the slip cover I placed the vellum over the the template and scored the folding lines with my Scor-Pal, then trimmed the sides. The ends of the slip cover are covered with Stampin' Up! Satin Ribbon. This way you can slip off the decoration to open up the pillow box, and fill it with treats or a small gift.
For a pop of color I colored a few leaves and pierced flowers from the Pierced Flowers set with the Copics you see above. I cut each petal all the way up to the center of the flower to shape them, and added foam dimensional dots of various thicknesses so that the flowers and leaves rest at different heights. The center of the flowers have a bit of sparkle with Crystal Stickles Glitter Glue.
Finally, I added the special date of an event with white Rockabye Thickers by American Crafts (self-adhesive foam letters). I just picked a day at random - okay it is my birthday tee hee.

Today's card took me about 5 minutes to make but looks quite elegant I think (hope). It was created for the SCS Color Challenge. Talk about throwing us for a loop today- we were to create a white card with only one layer. This is one layer for me, girls. Humph this was hard!
The beautiful butterfly used is a sneak peek of a new Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp set In His Time that is will be released on the 15th.
I stamped the main image onto 120 lb. Classic Solar White Neenah cardstock, then stamped the same image onto 80lb Classic Solar White Neenah cardstock. The 80lb cardstock is better to color Copics with as it doesn't soak up as much ink, and is easier to cut detailed butterflies with.
I left the base image uncolored as I think it makes a pretty statement that works well with the sentiment. I like the one pop of color.
The colored butterfly is attached to the base layer with a foam dot. I added Stickles in Waterfall and Crystal for some sparkle.
The Satin ribbon is by Stampin' Up!; the two copper crystals are by K&Co.

Speaking of recipes, I have been typing away on my Lettuce Wraps post but it is a lengthy recipe. It takes a lot of chopping and doing this and that, but the results are so yummy it's worth it. Look for that as soon as I can get done typing it lol.

Hi & Hello! Happy Sunday to you! Today's card uses Tilda With Cowberry Muffin & Cowberry Muffin stamps from Magnolia-Licious. I had never heard of a cowberry; turns out these are also called lingonberries (have you had the lingonberry jam at Ikea? SO good).
Here in Newfoundland we call them Partridgeberries; I had a slice of Partridgeberry cake with tea for breakfast and never knew of the coincidence until I looked it up.
Anyhoo, let's pretend these are cupcakes because they sure look like cupcakes sprinkled with sparkly crystal sugar to me, and are much more appetizing when I think of them that way :)
Tilda was colored with Copic markers, then her dress and her muffins were accented with Crystal Stickles and Pastel Raspberry Liquid Pearls. Her wings are tinted a sparkly blue with Waterfall Stickles.
I borrowed my friend's Stampin' Up! Oval Scallop Frame Bigz die to cut the scallop and oval, then edged the Cameo Rose textured cardstock frame with Crystal Stickles. The base of the card is Creamy Caramel textured cardstock; the green checked paper is Humpty Dumpty by American Crafts from the Baby collection.
The die cut flourishes are Spellbinders Floral Accents; I added some flatback pearls and Prima roses to them. A small bit of ribbon adds a pretty accent to the frame; K&Co. rhinestones add sparkle and shine.

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is off to a creative start. I was in a silly mood and made quite a silly card today. This dapper little fellow is Guiseppe Forks, the newest member of the Toodles & Binks Stamps family. The image comes with a thank you sentiment, which I didn't use as I went crazy with zee buttons and zee bows.
Isn't he sweet? I can just see him speaking with an accent. His first name is Italian, his last name could be what, British? But all I kept thinking was lederhosen. Maybe goats led me to Heidi on the mountain? *shrugs* So the ribbon and bows appeared as my homage to the suspenders worn with lederhosen. My stream of consciousness has quite a few bends :)
I colored the image with the Copics you see above after stamping twice onto Neenah cardstock so that I could pop the goat up for dimension.
I used a Bazzill Avalanche textured cardstock base (see goats, mountian tops - lederhosen!) with a peek of Core'dinations cardstock in a bright, crisp green. Bo Bunny Double Dot patterned paper in Powder Dot Blue tops the card.
The image itself is die cut with Spellbinder's Labels Four.
I used a Stampin' Up! Slot Punch on the die cut then slid some Bashful Blue Taffetta ribbon by Stampin' Up! into the slots, and added bows and Dew Drops. The flowers are topped with Crystal Stickles.
Toodles & Binks Stamps are made in the UK but they gladly ship internationally. They are sold online at Stamp Galaxy.

Today the DT members at Magnolia-Licious are having a Summer Notes Blog Hop to kick off the start of Summer. Using Magnolia Stamps, we have all made our own version of this super cute Sticky Note Holder in a Gift Box Set from a tutorial created by Bridget Owens (click the link for her fantastic tutorial).
My version uses the Tilda Wearing Glasses sitting on top of Books With Covers for the note holder. I just love how she peeks out behind Edwin when the Note Holder is slid into the box :)
The box the note holder fits in is created with Edwin Wearing Glasses and School Ruler stamps. The green polka dotted paper is Double Dot Paper in Wasabi Dot by Bo Bunny, a fabulous, bright green.
Tilda and her books are propped up with dimensional foam dots. The pink polka dotted paper is Little Bo Peep by American Crafts from the Baby collection; the Leaf foam letter Thickers are also American Crafts; the white ric rac 1/8 inch trim is by May Arts.
Designer Tip: You know the solid white cardboard that comes in the Stampin' Up! 12x12 paper packs? It cuts so easily in a die cut machine!
I couldn't get my chipboard to cut properly, so used the white cardboard to cut the largest square Nestabilties, then covered it with paper. It feels solid, stays firm and eliminates the need for measuring, which is tops in my book :)
The flower shaped polka dotted Sticky Notes are by 3M, purchased at Staples. Love the fun shape!

Today's card is created for the Embellish-Online.com Friday Free For All Challenge. I am hostess this week and my challenge for you is to make a shaped card with a summer theme. I thought of sunshine and flowers and here is the result!
My card is very simple today: the flower shape is new Spellbinders Blossom die cut, which is very similar to the Nested Flowers, but this has 6 dies instead of 3 in the set, and more petals that do not go so deep into the paper. The patterned paper is This Little Piggie from the American Crafts Baby collection. The pattern is the perfect size for the May Arts 1/8 inch Ric Rac trim. I added the trim with 1/8 inch Wonder Tape, then die cut the flower shape onto the paper. It cut right through.
Designer Tip: I use Dritz Fray Check on the end of my ribbon and trim to prevent fraying. It dries clear and really works. I got it for $2 on eBay.
The flower is cut from Mary Quite Contrary patterned paper. I added a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch paper butterfly with a turquoise crystal for a bit of bling.

Hi & hello! Welcome to the loony bin :) I freely admit this card drove me little crazy. It was the days weeks hours hour spent hand stitching pink embroidery thread onto the mane and tail of the Magnolia Stamps Cuddly Horse that did it. By the time I got to the pears I shrugged and said hey it's only a WHOLE PACK 'O PEARLS as I threw tons of Kaiser Champagne polka dots on the horse.
Cuddly Horse is from the Magnolia Stamps Love Collection and is available at Magnolia-Licious. While part of a Valentine's Day/Wedding collection, I think it makes the perfect gender neutral stamp for baby cards as it reminds me of a child's rocking horse. Lots of people who own the stamp are doing the same.
I colored the horse with Copic Markers. I must tell those of you who have to shop online for most of their treasures that the Champagne color of Kaiser Pearls is perfect for yellow cards as it has just a tinge of yellow to the cream of the pearls. It is so hard looking online and seeing 10 white looking pearls all with different names. In person you can see the yellow tint.
Anyhoo I even added pearls to the button tops. Crazy I tell ya :) The pearls come in a pack of different sizes; the really tiny pearls are courtesy of White Opal Liquid Pearls.
The base of the card is Bazzill Dotted Swiss cardstock which is embossed with polka dots; the patterned paper is Pat a Cake by American Crafts Baby collection; all paper is die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities.
The white foam adhesive letters, which spell BABY, are also by American Crafts -- both are available at Embellish-Online.com.
The Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon is by Stampin' Up!.
A time consuming and costly card. But hey, you only have a baby once (okay, once at a time, unless it's twins, oh #%#^$& never mind). This card is headed to a baby shower IF I can part with it; I know it is really busy but I like it. I hope you do too :)

I colored the Stampavie Stamp Margaux is Painting with Copic Markers, then matted it with a hot pink Bazzill Washboard pattern cardstock onto American Crafts Humpty Dumpty patterned paper from the new Baby collection.
The die cut used to cut the image is Spellbinder's Deckled Rectangles.
I punched one edge of the Chocolate Chip cardstock with an EK Success Edger Punch then added the most fabulous May Arts 1/8 inch ric rac trim in Celery. I am so in love with this trim! Can't wait to get my hands on the brown.
The cute little Adhesive Badge button is American Craft's Made With Love set.It is like a laminated tin button pins from the 70's, but instead of the stick pin part it has a foam sticker.
I couldn't go without just a wee bit of bling so added some turquoise K&Co. crystals in the two corners.

Welcome to my second post of the day. Crazy but fun times :) Today's card marks my first as a designer for Angels Landing Digi Stamps. These sweet images come in sets of files you purchase and download instantly. A bit more on how to work with Digi Stamps can be read below after the card details.
I used the set Mini Bears & Birds to create this scallop circle card. You get 51 images and sentiments for $4.99, making this adorable set not only super fun and versatile, but also a great value.
After coloring the image with Copic markers I layered it onto circle shaped Spellbinders die cuts. The blue checked patterned paper is by Sassafras Lass, the Pacific Point and Ridinghood Red cardstock is by Stampin' Up! (retiring this month).
Red butterfly punches, blue crystals and white flowers with gemstones add sparkle, while a large cotton fabric checked button adds a nice, summery picnic feel. I wish my camera could pick up the soft sky and grass nuances created with the Copic Markers but alas, no luck.
Tips on Working With Digital Stamp Images
Working
with these digi-stamps was so easy: I just printed my image directly
from a PDF file onto the 80lb Neenah Solar Crest paper. No resizing or fuss
involved.
I recommend 80 lb weight Neenah Solar Crest as it goes through most printers quite easily, and allows you to color with Copic Markers. If your printer is super fussy you can head to Staples and ask them to print the files onto their cardstock - even with the Copics I have not had a problem with Staples cardstock (they will also print on your own paper).
The images do come with PNG files too which you can manipulate if you want to (ie add sentiment where you want it near the image, then print it off). Judi thought of everything - many of the images come in black or brown "ink" outline, and color versions too. I look forward to sharing more of these cuties over the next few months.

Hi & Hello! I hope this Wednesday finds you with lots of free time for creating :) Get ready for another crazy day of posting at the Paper Monkey! I will be posting my first card for Angels Landing today, as well as my secret letter for the Embellish-Online.com Blog Hop & Contest.
Today's card was created for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog. I just adore the sketches being posted here, they are not too fussy and allow for so much creativity and inspiration.
After stamping the Sweet 'n Sassy Doodle Flowers images several times with Memento Ink, I cut them, reserving some for popping up with foam dots, and die cutting the others with Square Nestabilities.
Next I colored the flowers with the Copic Markers you see above. It is a very simple design as I wanted the colors and the textures of the Bazzill Basics cardstocks (Truffle, Rich Cocoa & Passionate) to be the focus.
Passionate cardstock was punched with the Fiskars Threading Water Punch.
There you have it. Sweet 'n Sassy 'n simple :)

Happy Tuesday! Today's happy & bright card features one of my new favorite Magnolia stamps, Tilda With Puppy.
I stamped the image twice to cut out a puppy to sit next to Tilda on the log, then had some fun coloring with Copic markers.
The sky was created thanks to Bo Bunny Brilliant Blue Double Dot paper (love this stuff) framed with Bazzill Dotted Swiss paper; both were die cut with Spellbinder's Deckled Rectangles. The card base is the funnest shade of green Core'dinations cardstock that I sanded so that the lighter core green would show through the weaved texture.
The shiny plastic puffy sticker grass and flourish are from the Umbrella Stickers by American Crafts.
The daisy is by Martha Stewart, and the satin ribbon is new Stampin' Up!
I hope this card makes you think of summer, puppy licks and childhood play.
