Hello friends :) I am back! I had intended to post during my move but you know what they say about the best laid plans... Oh my goodness, where do I begin? This summer has been both difficult and magical.
We went to Edmonton in Alberta to see Allan's parents and to meet his good friend's fiance, where I got the worst case of food poisoning after eating Vietnamese food - I was so cold my skin burned and my teeth chattered all night lol.
Next was Jasper and the Canadian Rockies where we saw a mama bear and cubs, tons of mountain goats, deer and elk - but it was not the wild life but rather the Versa rental car that attacked Allan and I both - the dang door was sharp and gashed our legs. We hiked the Edith Clavell Mountain to see the most beautiful glacier (the top pic above).
We hobbled next to then Rosetown, SK for the town's 100th anniversary celebration, where we enjoyed hot cement and cold Dairy Queen ice cream cones. Heaven! The picturesque town was second only to getting to meet Allan's extended family. The visit at Aunt Colleen and Uncle Bill's ranch was so fantastic, I will be sharing more pictures soon. He has such a fun clan.
We got home then immediately began to move to our new home in Conception Bay South. I began a new job working for the Newfoundland Dept. of Health, in between having to throw fits to get a replacement stove for the new one that did not work. My work is a temporary assignment; I LOVE helping people and get to do just that in this job (my department helps people who wouldn't be able to afford the medications they need to get them).
House status: we have sanded, primed and painted the house, put in new floors and just today got a washer and dryer (how did our ancestors live without them??). And we have just begun. I guess owning a home is a lifelong process to make it your own.
What else is good hmm (not going to share the bad stuff - blah who wants to read that). We rescued a little demon kitty from the ASPCA. Yep, that is him up there looking sweet and innocent in his best Senior Class Portrait pose. Don't let him fool ya!
His name is Angus McKitt and he was a bit wild when we got him. I have a few scars now but he has become the sweetest little love bug.
One more thing - my work is on the cover of this month's CardMaker Magazine. Talk about a shock!!
This is my first time being published, and I am now living proof that anyone can do this. All it takes is a little bit of an obsessive nature and a lot of stamps haha. I am shocked, amazed, and can't wait to get my hands on the issue :) I have a subscription but it has not arrived yet.
I also got to host a color challenge over at SCS which was such a thrill - I couldn't create yet, so lived vicariously through all the stampers :) There has been so much more but I can't think right now! I am in the process of unpacking my craft room and will share pictures of that too when it is done - warts and all.
I hope to be back very soon with cards - I hope I did not lose my mojo because I am just dying to create!!
I have missed posting, and missed YOU!
hugs,
Suzy
